DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR POSITION DESCRIPTION
The African American Health Coalition is seeking a dynamic and experienced Development Director who enjoys a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY The Development Director (DD) is responsible for resource development for AAHC programs and services. The Development Director successfully cultivates, solicits and stewards gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations and public/government grants to support AAHC's mission. The Development Director reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the AAHC management team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can provide strong and creative development leadership and stewardship. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, poise under pressure, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum five years experience in the development and marketing practice in the non-profit sector. Experience securing millions of dollars from a diverse constituent base Experience working in a healthcare related position, and/or an organizations involving minority care disparities Experience setting and achieving goals Demonstrated ability to work with teams in a collaborative, constructive, professional manner Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills An earned bachelor's degree, M.S. or MBA preferred, with emphasis in non-profit management, marketing or related field Proficient computer expertise with hardware and software in an office environment Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
SALARY Range: $48,000 - $60,000, depends on experience Attractive Benefits Package
